I attended the Toronto book launch session for “Crush it!” by Gary Vaynerchuk, the wunderkind who’s been using internet-based tools (and especially a hilarious and informative video blog) since 1998 to build the family wine business – very, very successfully. “We’re heading for a thank you economy”, he stated during his address, describing the paradox of technology forcing more openness, more humility…. more humanity.
For marketers who can embrace openness, this is an exhilarating time… spread the knowledge, there’s enough work for everyone. You’ll end up spreading the joy of marketing at the same time. And that has to be good for the profession.
As the name of this blog implies, I associate dance and marketing. Here’s an example of how dance shared can spread joy. We can do it in marketing, too – step by step.
More than 200 dancers were performing their version of “Do Re Mi”, (ends in hip hop) in the Central Station of Antwerp. It is a promotion stunt for a Belgian television program, where they are looking for someone to play the leading role, in the musical of “The Sound of Music”. Watch how they engage with the commuters, and the glee on many faces.
